JOHANNES CHRISTOFFEL COREA (Mudaliyar) was the only son of Abraham Corea and Eleanor Dias-Abeysinghe. His father was Mohandiram of the Chilaw District and his uncle was the Mudaliyar of Alutkuru Korale. Johannes became Mudaliyar of Chilaw and was married to Sophia Ameresekera.

Johannes Christoffel Corea and Sophia Ameresekera had four sons: James Edward (who succeeded him as Mudaliyar), Percival Allan, Jumeaux Arthur Christoffel and James Abraham Corea.
